Middle-East conflict – Lebanon pounded by Israeli stikes amid talks of ceasefire

Senior American officials have been holding high-level talks in Israel to discuss a possible ceasefire deal for Lebanon as well as new initiatives to secure the release of the hostages in Gaza.

Israel has continued to strike what it says are Hezbollah targets across Lebanon – including the Bekaa Valley and the south. Lebanese officials said at least 45 people had been killed in the last 24 hours.
