Ukraine captures ‘hundreds’ of Russian prisoners as shock advance continues

It was a sight no one expected to see after more than 900 days of war: a correspondent from Ukraine’s state television news reporting from inside Russian territory as Ukrainian forces tore down a Russian flag and handed out humanitarian aid.

Ukraine said it was creating a security zone inside Russia’s Kursk region and planned to set up military command posts there.

There were plenty of red faces in Red Square, as Russia digs in with new fortifications 45 kilometres from the border.
