Meet the homeless women in Ethiopia using wild dogs for protection

Thousands of displaced women and children fleeing Ethiopia’s Tigray conflict have found refuge in the country’s capital Addis Ababa.

Many are homeless due to widespread poverty and lack of government support, living in tents and forced to turn to begging – which Ethiopia made illegal in 2023.

Left to fend for themselves, many have found unlikely safety and companionship from the city’s stray dogs.
