Ethiopia’s blind superstar breaks own world record to win at Paris paralympics

Three years ago this programme was in Ethiopia to meet a talented young athlete.

When Yayesh Tesfaw was just a baby when she lost her sight and grew up in a community where disabled people often face discrimination as well as huge challenges in their daily lives. She would train in barren fields – but still dreamed of paralympic glory, which she fulfilled last night in Paris.
