Venezuela election: more violence expected as Maduro protests spread

Venezuela is braced for major protests this evening as both opponents and supporters of the president rally.

Anti-government protests have spread since the electoral council declared that Nicolas Maduro had won a third term in Sunday’s election.

At least six people have been killed.

Opposition candidate Edmundo Gonzalez says the 73 percent of vote tallies they’ve been able to access show he got more than twice as many votes as Mr Maduro.
