Fears of Israel-Hezbollah war grow after strike kills 12 in Golan Heights

For months Israel has been warning that it’s preparing for all-out war with Hezbollah. Now, Benjamin Netanyahu says the Lebanese militia will pay a heavy price for the rocket strike that killed at least 12 children and teenagers as they played football last night.

Hezbollah has denied any responsibility for the attack on Majdal Shams – in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.

Israel was quick to hit back, saying it had bombed Hezbollah weapons caches and infrastructure in Bekaa in eastern Lebanon and these areas of southern Lebanon.

The Israeli security cabinet has been meeting to discuss its next move, but  with its military still battling Hamas up and down Gaza, is it really in a position to expand its war with Hezbollah?
