France rail network crippled by sabotage attacks ahead of Paris Olympics
Paris has been lit up with the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games. But not everyone who hoped to be there will make it, after the co-ordinated arson attacks which plunged the country’s rail network into disarray.
No-one has yet admitted carrying out the attack, which the French Prime Minister said had hit the “nerve centres” of the rail system, disrupting services on three high-speed train lines connecting Paris with the country’s west, north and east, as well as the Eurostar.
