France election: on the campaign trail with far-right National Rally (dubbed)

France’s election is on a knife edge.

30,000 police officers will be deployed across the country on Sunday to prevent unrest as the final round of voting gets underway.

Three politicians say they’ve been attacked while campaigning, including a government spokeswoman and a candidate from Marine Le Pen’s far right National Rally.

It looks set to become the largest party in parliament, but its hopes of securing an absolute majority appear to be fading.
