Maternity units in Nottingham not improving fast enough, says midwife who led review
Three years ago, this programme revealed how dozens of mothers and babies came to harm in maternity units across Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. An independent review was launched – led by senior midwife Donna Ockenden – looking into nearly 2,000 cases.
But today she told this programme that services at the Trust are not improving fast enough – with mothers still revealing stories of racism, discrimination and safety issues they’ve experienced since the review began.
