A Blackpool riots ‘leader’ jailed for 2.5 years

A man described in court as “an instigator and a leader” of recent riots in Blackpool has been jailed for two and half years.

Roger Haywood pleaded guilty today at Preston Crown Court to violent disorder and two offences of assaulting an emergency worker.

Over 100 people have now been sentenced for their parts in the disturbances.
