Starmer to suspend Labour MPs for rebelling over two-child benefit cap

Cathy Newman: The first rebellion of Sir Keir Starmer’s premiership is expected in Parliament this evening as MPs vote on the Government’s legislative programme.

The rebels are a small group of Labour MPs, dismayed that there are no plans to remove the two-child benefit cap. But with a working majority of more than 180 Sir Keir Starmer has little to fear.
